Dark Love

You are a fool. You don't know what's going on here. You snagged on my trip wire and think somehow you might be able to reset that. Sorry, babycakes. The ancient door just clicked shut behind you and it is now locked forever. Yes, it smells like a tomb in here for a reason.

Welcome. After the pain, you will feel nothing but sheer bliss, if you feel anything at all.

You were the one who touched me first. You said you loved my work, this beautiful web I have been constructing my entire life. It took me days to recover from the swoon. I hid under a rock while I sobered up. And now my six feet are under my control again, and gripping this sticky string for what must be done.

You are going nowhere. You are cocooning in my words. You are weightless on the web. My power goes bright, and dark. Tonight, I glow dark. My stinger feels cool in the rank air. Only one remedy for that.

A wonderful web indeed. I love this for many reasons. Partially because the tone of it speaks volumes. It says so much more than can be put into words. The other part is I am fascinated with spiders. I mean I'm scared shitless of them, but I'm really amazed by them. I can’t speak for everyone, but for me, your Book of Love Letters is a beautiful web that only you could have created. You draw me in and I keep coming back for more over and over again, but I’m no fool. ☺ Well done.

thanks! that one was fun, for sure.
@tori, i'm also scared of spiders, and i guess that's where we get our fascination with them. i do like house spiders, although if too many congregate in my room i have a mass eviction party, catching them in tupperware and relocating them. the big fat scary-looking ones are never allowed in my home. ever!
@andrea, felt good to cut loose with my dark side. that was my favorite spiderman, the one with the dark spidey. i didn't understand how more people didn't like that one.

Nicely done! Don't know how you find me, but glad you did, as I have found you, another writer. Busy today, but based on this post of yours I will have a look around when I have time.

Thanks for dropping by.

Hmmm. Was this truth or fiction? I am partial to your truth, so I'll go with that because I understood it from the vantage point of knowing it true. How easy it is to reach out and rock a world we cannot see. We touch with our words and the intent is complicated. It is important to consider, is it about me, is it about you? It hurts me to think that your power glows dark, your stinger ineffectual. And yet, from this place comes fabulous writing.

Thanks for the visiting the eggshells. You were not weightless on my web. Keep cracking.

wine and words, thanks so much. i love your insight: "how easy it is to reach out and rock a world we cannot see."
you asked if it's truth or fiction. well, it's both. i have a dark side. i have put personalities in cages. i am aware of it. i write about it and release the compulsion by showing this dark side in a blip of transparency.
