Breach in the Moonlight

No one enters this deep into the forest. No one passes through my perimeter of wolves.

Yet the land speaks of new feet moving across the glen. The birds report news of a stranger in the deep.

I have been cut off for eons. I live in the high branches and the world under the tree. I have clear agreements with the great tribe of wolves. This can mean only one thing.

Love has found me.

I love the way Love found you! Powerful is a great word to describe it!

Didn't expect it to go there either, nicely done. So being that deep in the forest does that mean love is part of the bear necessities?..haha

Nice. Like the wind through the trees, nature speaks. Your words are as musical as all of that. And a great last line to boot!

thanks so much:) i thought the last line was going to become evident to the reader and that's why i made this one short, to get the reader to the kicker as quick as possible:)

Gosh--your snippets have such a ring of truth, in that hopeful yet tormented way--I hate to think of it as fiction...still trying to figure that out...

Wonderfully powerful!

the voice in this is fantastic. this ageless, timeless, eons-old presence... and then to find that it was love that had done it. transforming as it does...
the brevity of it was powerful, and the tone, pitch-perfect.

Awn!!! I'm glad love found you. I may have to move into the deepest parts of the forest as well to see if it happens to me to!

Nicely written.

Take care and keep smiling.

I love the drama of this, the way you set it all up before the final line.

I love this! I, too, was surprised by the last line and pleasantly so. Guess I've been exposed to too much YA fiction about werewolves and vampires lately! Metaphor? What's that?!!

I hope it's true Shutter Bug! Hey, it's getting too crowded in here for me. Can a few of us just perch in the branches and howl at the moon awhile?

(word verification: poothe. I love that word. I'm keeping it!)

Though I must say that the last line is familiar. I think I used it once in my post too.

Thanks always for your kinds words in my blog ~

the ending has definitely been used before, but there's no shame in using an eternal truth as a theme anytime.

This was a good read and as expressed in some of the comments before me I too did not expect the end. It was a pleasantly shocking twist.
