Getting There

I struggle with organization in my life, but I'm getting there. When my life is organized and I'm satisfied with things, I become a better artist and more functional personally. I'm getting there. I did a first day of school photo essay that turned out well. I shot the first high school football game of the season, which was so much fun. I also covered the Wii National Championships, which was mildly amusing. This is my favorite photograph I've taken so far for Patch. Hope ya'all have a great week. I'm looking forward to visiting your places over the next few days:)

I really liked your first day essay. It took me back a few years. Okay, many years! And I love the little girl posing in the photo.

I understand about organization. Totally. I'm more at peace when I'm organized but I just can't seem to STAY organized. Maybe there's a 12 step program somewhere I can join...would be nice!

I have something for you over on my blog....

Does anyone else hear the fish from Finding Nemo? Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles! MY bubbles. hahaha...

Great pic...what was the Wii championship like? I picture senior citizens just because they push that angle on the news. LOL

Organization, the bane of my existance. I'm cleaning the house this weekend from top to bottom just so I can finish my ms. this week when the child is in school.

I'm glad you've found your groove.

That photo essay is absolutely perfect! It took me right back to all that is the first day. Except for that Class of 2014 sign. That just made me feel old. ;)

When did people start eating as they walk along? Why did that start? I used to think it was because people had boxed themselves into such busy lifestyles that they had to eat on the run. But now I am not so sure that is the reason. We as a group are putting things into our mouths most of the time. Anyway, it is a good photo and I can see why it would be fun for you to get a chance to take photos like this.

What did they say about it is the journey, not the destination..

thanks so much.
for the record, the little girl is not posing, though she seems to be. it's tough to tell when the photo is little as it is here. when it's bigger, you can tell she is creating bubbles too. she was doing this before i arrived and though it's ridiculous to say that a big camera doesn't affect the action at all, i can say this is a spontaneous photo. shooting kids is fun. i snap the photo first and then introduce myself to the parent. in this case, her older cousin was watching over her. i shot about 70 photos total. i like this one with the bubble over her eye and over the dude in the back taking a photo of the ocean.

Lovely shot - I like the attitude of the girl and the bubble behind her is amazing!

I think artists need organization and structure even more so than most people. It's hard to be a creative type who's organized so it's better to just stick to something that works.

As my business manager has always said: "Discipline is Freedom."

Funny how you wrote that when your life is organized you're a better artist. I find that when I'm more focused on my art, my life is less chaotic.

Here's to art!

Sometimes the thought of getting organised is worse than just getting stuck in and doing it. There you go Ed - don't put it off any longer, Get Organised.

Love the pic.
